"Both
my husband and I and brother in law took
part in the 30 mile mountain trail
challenge this year. We came across
this event while we were out walking and
we were handed a card about the walk and
thought shall we try it? We are so
pleased that we decided to take this
challenge on.
It
was excellent and so well organised in
every respect and all the members of
your team at the stops on route were so
cheerful and helpful and the
refreshments were so very, very
welcome. We also met some lovely people
along the way. Just thank you again for
the brilliant challenge and we look
forward to doing it again next year.
Kind regards"

"Hi
Please could you inform me as to when
registration opens for the 2010 event..
I
took part in this years and it was the first
time I have done anything on this scale..
I
was all on my lonesome, but I thoroughly
enjoyed every second, even when I tweaked my
hamstring on the Garwen moorland and took
nearly 2 hours to reach the final checkpoint
!
I
can’t wait until the next one !!
Best
Regards"

"thankyou
so much for organising thiis event, it's the first
time i
have done anything like this, although i am into
walking nine miles is
the most i have done, i had an amazing time. there
were ten of us at
the start but unfortunately one of our party fell
and dislocated his
shoulder so only eight of us finished. we have
already said that we
would like to do the thirty mile one next year, so
we are looking
forward to that. thanks once again,

"Dear All,
Another superb event! Thank you all, for your skill,
dedication and goodwill in making the event such
fun.
I did the 30 mile last year, the
20 miles this year. There is not another event like
it - everyone I met had a kind word and a smile on
their faces, walkers and officials alike.
See you again next year!"

"Hi,
This was my first Mountain Trail Challenge, and
having enjoyed the 20 mile route this
year, I'm looking forward to doing the 30 mile route
next year. I was impressed by how
organised it was, with friendly efficient marshals,
excellent route notes and markings,
and an interesting and varied route. In addition,
the campsite is ideal, with plenty of
space and welcoming people running it.
I've attached a photo of myself and my friend, who
will also be back next year, in case
you'd like to add it to the photos section of the
website. See you then,"

"Hi,
Just wanted to say "Thanks" for a
great walking challenge! I finished the
30 miles with my partner and although we
were one of the last groups in, we had
such a brilliant time we are planning to
do it again next year!
The route marking was great and the
cups of tea were so gratefully recieved
at checkpoints 2b and 3.
The last ascent before the final
descent down into Grawen, was bloody
horrible, but in the dark and with my
partners headtorch batteries expiring,
it was a real adventure!
We really feel as though we have
achieved something this weekend, and it
has fired us up to do more long distance
mountain walking.
Thanks once again for a superbly
organised event, everything, from the
car parking to the route was well though
out and executed.
See you next year!"

"
Thanks for organising a great 2009
walk. The marshalling and support
were first class.
We did the walk in 2008 and felt
there were 2 improvements which
could be made - and you made them!
Firstly, we were able to start early
(and so finish in daylight) and
second, you made the route better at
the end by not having as much open,
boggy moorland to cross. Well done!
It just made the whole experience so
much better. If only you could find
a way to stop me getting blisters on
my heels, that would just make the
day perfect!
Thanks again

"
Just to say i had a great
day on saturday . Excellent
organisation, the good weathermade it
all the better.I found the forest tracks
between the checkpoints a long drag so
had to dig in. Found my legs again after
Dolgaer to Grawen. A super event hope to
be back next year, thanks for a great
day."

"To Whom
it May Concern
Just to say really enjoyed the
walk on saturday:-
- Great and varied route, made
all the better by the weather
- Well marked
- Well organised with efficient
registration
- Nice and very welcome
surprise to get tea and biscuits at
the halfway point and also at CP3,
certainly kept us going.
- and for the record we
measured 31.9miles, need to get that
right for next year...
Let me know when next years
registration will be out!
Best Regards and thanks again for
a well organised event."

"Hi All
I took part in the 30 mile challenge on Saturday and just
wanted to say a big thank you to
everyone involved in running the event.
It was very well organised and staffed
by a lot of friendly people. The route
itself was certainly a challenge but it
was well set out and covered a variety
of terrain that I don’t normally get to
see on my usual (shorter) walks. I will
be back next year to see if I can
improve on my time. Please be sure to
book the good weather for 2010
Once again, many thanks."

"Thank
you so much for organising a wonderful
day - including brilliant weather! This
was my first time doing the challenge
and yes it challenged me but I was
enjoyably exhausted. The campsite was
also very good and the owners helpful
and concerned with keeping it clean.
Fantastic. So glad I was walking up Pen
y Fan earlier in the year and picked up
your advertising card!
Already looking forward to next year and
more to come - is it always the third
weekend in September please?

"Just
to say thank you to all of your team
who made last saturdays event such
a success. The event was very well
organised,route was clear and well
marked out,a most enjoyable day.The
cup of tea at the yha at Talybont
was without doubt the best one i
have had in a long time.
Many thanks"

"Just a note to congratulate you all for the much
improved challenge this year. You
took on board the criticism of last
year and the new route was an
improvement although less
challenging than 2008.The sunset
coming over the last mountain
moorland was stunning. Truly a joy
to be there.
The check points were well chosen – my only comment
is that entrants did not need to
visit the top of pen-y-fan and many
took a direct route to the next
check point. Myself and many others
visited the summit anyway, it didn’t
seem right to miss it.
There was plenty of water available and the
provision of hot drinks at two
checkpoints and the end was
fantastic. Thank you.
All the support team were professional and friendly
and all in all it was an excellent
event. You will definitely, health
permitting, see me next year."
